Motorcycle taxi drivers face crashes and income swings with patchy insurance knowledge
A July 2026 UNDP and insurance-association program trained 100 Bangkok drivers. Motorcycles accounted for 83.17% of 2025 road deaths, and the road-victims company says many victims miss compensation because the vehicle lacked compulsory insurance. HERA research says moto-taxi income roughly halves at peak heat.

Camera and vision
Crash Scene Snap: film a 20 second walkaround and get a claim-ready evidence sheet
After a crash, the driver films a slow loop around the scene. The AI pulls the other plate, the damage, road position and time and place, and builds a one-page Thai PDF listing what a compulsory insurance claim needs. Shaking hands and no time to think are the design target.
Build with Claude vision, ffmpeg, GPS timestamp, PDF generation, PWA
Hardware and sensors
Policy Sticker: a printed helmet and bike tag that shows if cover is live and who to call
The driver photographs the insurance sticker once. The system prints a tough tag with a QR for the helmet and the bike. A bystander, paramedic or police officer scans it after a crash and sees whether compulsory cover is active, the insurer hotline, and the driver's emergency contact.
Build with QR sticker printer, Claude vision for insurance sticker, Cloudflare Worker, Next.js
Voice and phone
Heat Shift: say each fare out loud and see your hot-hour income dip
A driver says 'fifty baht, Asok to Phrom Phong' between rides, hands-free. The app charts income by hour next to the Thai Meteorological Department heat forecast and suggests rest windows and the best hours to ride.
Build with Whisper, Claude, TMD heat index data, PWA with voice button
Hardware and sensors
Helmet Heat Buzzer: a clip-on sensor that buzzes at a heat index that halves your income
A small ESP32 with a temperature and humidity sensor clips to the vest or helmet. When the heat index crosses a dangerous level it buzzes and flashes, and a 20 minute rest timer starts. It also logs when the driver rested, so heat days show in the earnings data.
Build with ESP32, SHT31 sensor, buzzer, small LiPo, heat index formula
Web portal
Cover Tip: passengers tip through a helmet QR, and tips fill an insurance pot
A sticker on the helmet opens a page where a passenger leaves a tip by PromptPay QR. Each tip fills a visible pot that the group uses to pay the driver's insurance, so riders see the progress and passengers know where the money goes.
Build with Next.js, PromptPay QR, Omise, Supabase, QR sticker
